Hype around Jhon Arias has returned after he produced a man-of-the-match performance for Wolves against Tottenham.
The winger arrived with a lot of expectation, and his excellent goal during preseason added to the excitement.
However, it is fair to say he has yet to hit the standards Wolves fans were hoping to see.
His time so far in England has led to surprise links for Arias to return to the Brazilian Serie A, but the player is focused on improving at Wolves.
Despite being out of form for the club, the winger remains a key member of the Colombian national team, but their latest decision has left him surprised.
Jhon Arias not called up to Colombian national team

We are heading into the second international break of the season, and after Wolves had a record number of international call-ups, there have been quite a few players omitted this time around.
Matt Doherty’s recent wrist surgery has left him ruled out of action for both Ireland and Wolves over the coming weeks.
Now, Jhon Arias has been left out of the Colombia squad.
Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra has revealed the reason behind the decision and has also said Arias was shocked by it.
Sierra said, “They didn’t tell him anything. I mean, Jhon Arias was surprised not to be called up today. I don’t know if you’re aware of Jhon Arias’ absence, but what they’re telling me at the Federation is that they’re thinking about his development as a Wolves player.”
While Arias will no doubt be upset at being left out, it does offer the player a chance to improve for the Wanderers.
Jhon Arias’s exclusion is a big boost for Wolves
Jhon Arias’s omission from the upcoming international break is a huge boost for the Old Gold.
The Colombian will not have to travel large distances on his way back to England, and it also means Vitor Pereira can continue to work with him on the training ground.
Arias has seemed to find his feet after his performance against Tottenham, and further discussions and training sessions with Pereira will be a big help before crucial matches once Premier League action returns.
Wolves have both Sunderland and Burnley after the break in what are looking like two relegation six-pointers.
They will need Jhon Arias at his very best.
